The gritty voiced country singer who grew up listening to his idol, Merle Haggard and surrounded by a musical family of country    pickers, has original roots in Andice, Texas, near Austin, but today calls Burnet, TX home.

What is more than legend is that Chad cut his baby teeth on guitar. “I did for a fact. My dad was a guitar picker with aspirations of being a country singer—he in fact had a single release in the ‘70’s that had a little bit of national success. The family joke was that when I was a baby, he laid his guitar down on the bed next to me, and when he picked it back up, it had my tooth marks in it! I decided then and there I wanted to be in music!”

The second oldest of seven kids, Chad and his six sisters grew up in the country with music as a staple of life. He began touring Texas with the family band of dad and uncles as soon as he was old enough to hold a guitar. “We were pretty hot on the Texas circuit—dives and honky tonks—we played the whole regional market and had quite a following.”

Chad’s had the opportunity to release his own, “All My Dreams” –which scored 1 on the Texas charts.

Fast track to summer of 2009 and Chad Austin is in a new day of creativity. His career is under the guidance of long time friend and music entrepreneur, Herb Graham whose association goes back to a 2001 meeting at Graham’s club in Odessa. He’s assembled a real team that’s flat out ready to make the run with me.”

In the immediate future is the release of Chad’s new single, “I Need An Angel” an uptempo return to the kind of music he wants to do. “The song is a great fit for his voice and I think has tremendous connectivity for radio.

Chad is planning a steady ride of touring with his band and visiting radio stations in support of the new single – a tour where he is sure to find a legion of old friends to help support the new launch. With every place he goes he will be sure find time to fit in his favorite hobbies of archery and fishing!

Looking up to such legends as Merle Haggard and Gene Watson —Chad has always loved the traditional side of country music and wants to keep alive the tradition that guys like this have established.

What’s next: “I want to jump in that old pick-up, crank-up the radio, and hear my own 1 hit blasting through those speakers!
